How to listen to British gp when there?
Discussion
a cheap FM radio and tune to 87.7.
You may be able to get an internet stream via your phone (You will also need good mobile reception) but there will be a delay. I listen to football (5live and Talksport) in the car on MW. If i get home I can park up, open the door, take shoes off, go upstairs and ask Alexa to play which ever station I was listening to and I will be listening to 30seconds of commentary I've already heard whilst in the car.

I wouldn’t mind a delay but couldn’t find a way on my phone. Forgot to add it’s mainly for the practice sessions and they werent covered on 5 live and radio silverstone doesn’t appear to have an online option.
I will use a radio if only option but all small ones need wired headphones as I presume they use the wire as an antenna.
Was also hoping to share between the two of us which would be easier with wireless headphones.

The F1 app gives you live commentary if you register - so you simply need your phone and some reception.I will use a radio if only option but all small ones need wired headphones as I presume they use the wire as an antenna.

I think there is which put me off one year (yep im a tight chuffer £500 for a ticket but not paying an extra £3 to know what is going on!)
Ha! Well if it compensates for the upset, I think you get the live timing too so it's quite good value, unlike anything else you'll experience once you're at the circuit I would go with the old school radio option and nice noise cancelling headphones. My EE data was unusable at the GP this year.

Having worked in comms at big events, your EE would not work as the towers would have been utterly overwhelmed, Either the track or EE could have done something about this by installing extra to cope with demand, but, well you can guess why

Yes, it’s £2.99 a month for the F1 live timing screens, which includes the BBC R5L commentary for all sessions. Subscribe from formula1.com or through the F1 mobile app. I was that cheapskate once too, really is a false economy!
On practice days that will probably work fine, but on Sunday the mobile data network could well get clogged, so have a backup. My backup is a pair of ear defenders with a built-in radio, bought back in the day when the cars were noisy enough that ear defenders were required!
