As a self confirmed Dinosaur and old age pensioner I still like tinkering with my OLD muscle cars!

If I speak of others trying to start a business on TV and point out the downfalls, its seen as weird?

Yes I have an unhealthy fascination with Muscle cars which are seen a Devil's work these days...

So on my many trips to the USofA I met many restorers of American muscle cars.
Mainly Mopar and the rise of the Million dollar hemi cars in the USofA.

I had pleasure of working on some of them personally and feel I have plenty to give fellow UK restorers.
But a much varied and modern site like PH is probably the wrong place to do it?[url]

These are some of the muscle cars I worked on...

I love the old American muscle cars, but I also think that part of their charm / appeal is how they really fit in and work in their natural habitat of the US, same with Utes and Oz, out of their usual places they always seem a bit 'try hard' ....

What I really want is a 64 Impala with switches !!! But in Reading I'd look a right knob !!!

Blimey those cars are huge, even for today's standards, they must have been immense parked next to a Mk1 Sierra!

So if you spent £250,000 on a new bodyshop, why would you be working on 'Crusty Rust' cars?

The golden rule of restoration is?

Buy rust-free cars and the job is so much easier lol...

How much is a 'done ' Jensen Interceptor worth?

£75,000 but herein lies the problem...

It costs £100,000 to do plus the cost of the car at £17,000!

Is this anymore (or less) a Dinosaur than an American muscle car???

Great thread thumbup

I love the idea of an old musclecar (1972 Bullnose or Z28) but the reality is I'm not sure I could live with the necessary compromises at which point you're looking at some degree of restomod and things become silly money weeping so I'll stick with the modern take on it and devour these sorts of threads and gaze adoringly at these in car shows

That one is an FF (and a rare Series 1 at that), one of just 320 FFs built overall and could easily fetch £150k in the right climate wink

Nice replies guys!

Now compare the Charger 500 resto 'done at home' to one done by a TV company.

No one will admit to costs as its eyewatering lol...

How could you ever price up these Jobs?

If you was fortunate to own one of these 392 Dodge Charger 500's in need of resto, what would you do???

Try and get a TV company 'on board' or bite the bullet and 'DIY'...
This is the 'last one ever made' on December 19th 1968.
