Red Rose

Just a quick question about red rose spec engine specs.

I notice a lot of tvr`s have what is called red rose spec. A good few years ago I used to deal with a firm called `Red Rose international` they were fruit importers in Lincolnshire and the MD or/and his son always had new tvrs as company cars and always had them factory tuned /uprated. I think his name was Colin Masey, is this where the name comes from ? or is it just a strange coincidence ?

TVR is in Blackpool, Lancashire - this counties official flower is the red roses of Lancashire which is also the principal features of the coat of arms.
