Duxford flying finale this Saturday
Discussion
The Patrouille Suisse were really impressive when I saw them in Hamburg years ago.
Tickets were still available for the BoB airshow last month; I thought it would be fairly quiet, maybe with uncertainty about the weather, but I’ve never seen a bigger crowd. We arrived at the usual time (about 10:45) and barely made it into the car parking field before it was full.

Thanks for that - I'm aiming to get there for when the gates open ideally.Tickets were still available for the BoB airshow last month; I thought it would be fairly quiet, maybe with uncertainty about the weather, but I’ve never seen a bigger crowd. For a visitor, what’s the difference between a flying day and an air show?
A flying day is generally just a normal day at IWM Duxford with maybe a few themed activities in the halls and, if you're lucky, 3-6 planes going up for a brief spin. Entrance prices are normal prices and IWM members get in for free. No traders, no funfairs etc and it used to be limited ticket numbers (I've heard 2000 before?).This weekend's flying finale is being billed as an airshow and not a flying day like last year, so it's being charged a bit less than the BoB airshow but IWM members must pay albeit at a discounted rate.

£35 and I think there’s only the Patrouille Suisse that I’d want to see. Oh well.
Here’s to good weather and some good displays!

TBH they are the prime reason I'm going. The warbirds, whilst I love seeing them, I wouldn't usually pay to go to an airshow - though the price is only a little more than standard entry I am an IWM member so get flying days included. £35 and I think there’s only the Patrouille Suisse that I’d want to see. The Typhoon is great but 've seen several times before - the Swiss had better be good

Judging by the weather it’ll be a great day out at Duxford.
Is not bad here tbh. The Swiss did a mini warm up display just before 12 so really looking forward to the main event ??
