Hi guys,

I'm waiting on a classic car from Japan. I purchased the car in July and my agent is really struggling to arrange roll on-roll off shipping to the UK. I've been advised that the shippers are prioritising new cars which have been delayed by the covid pandemic. Anyone else having similar issues?

Cheers

I have heard that RO RO is a nightmare at the moment, and perversely containers are now much cheaper and there are plenty of them. Might be worth comparing the cost.

I had to wait about 3 months for a slot last year. Seems a pretty common issue.

Many thanks both for your responses. I've been advised that container shipping will cost me an extra £1500-£2000 which is not something I have the budget for currently, so I'm going to have wait it out.

Has been delays for the last 12 months minimum. Prices have also gone through the roof thanks to shortage of space and weak dollar. Just paid £1350 for a Golf to be shipped, last year would have been £850-900.

Thankfully mine is now on the way. Due Jan/Feb 2022. It feels like its been a long wait. Apparently I was lucky to get a space.
