Does anyone have an Imperial Blue pearl TVR ?

The reason i ask is that i may be purchasing a new T350 in this colour and wanted to know how easy it is to keep the paintwork looking in tiptop condition,
Does the colour show every little scratch and mark?

Sadly yup, its the curves and the way the light bounces off them.... you could always try the polishing company which ted used, bought a mega shine back to his blue....

If you look after it you should be fine. I had mine 3yrs and it looked fine. Just use a good quality polish and wash it regularly (and of course get rid of any bird poo a.s.a.p.).

Imperial Blue is a great colour - I never did see a Chimaera I preferred over mine colour-wise.

Superb colour, really brings out the curves on your car. I also had a chim in same colour and is definately top colour for that model. Easy to match as well (ford code, off shelf at Halfords). Should look superb on 350 as well. Does tend to show marks but so does any deep blue. GO GET IT !!

I think mine is Imperial blue pearlescent. DOesnt show dirt too badly.

I've got an Imperial Blue Griff and I think the colour is fantastic, especially in bright sunshine. However, mine does show off swirl marks rather easily so bear that in mind.

Its not so much showing dirt im bothered about but whether it shows swirl marks badly after a wash and polish. I hate nothing more than to polish and wax only for all the swirl mark reflections in the sun

We've got an Imperial Blue Chimaera. As a colour its no worse to look after than anything else.

And I've washed and leathered a lot of cars...

I have an Imperial blue Tuscan..... I think the colour is fantastic and regularly get positive remarks on the colour.

I dont think its any worse than any other colour to polish.. Untill recently I used to mix Autoglym red and gold 50-50....but now use the new ultra deep shine (ment for dark colours) ...

I`ve got an imperial blue Chimaera. Fantastic colour. Polishes up nicely with Autoglym resin polish, then I use the extra gloss protection and it comes up fantastic, especially in the sun.

I`ve had black cars in the past and these tend to show up marks very easily, but the only thing that notices on my Chim are the few stone chips on the front end.

The main difficulty with Imperial Blue IMHO is picking the interior trim to work with it. Most blue leathers are 'cool' blues whereas Imperial Blue is a warm colour. I split the cost with a couple of other guys back in '98 to have hides/carpets dyed to match Imperial. Not sure if these colours ended up being available afterwards.
