How wide is a mini

Please help. How wide is a classic mini ?? will it go on a 5ft wide flat bed trailer ? :wavey:

55.5" overall says my Haynes manual. You should be OK. If you drive it on you may have to climb out of the window though, I find that as the bottom edges are so low, the doors are often blocked by the trailer's wheelarches.

If your trailer is completely flat you should be OK.

I have just popped out the the garage with a tape measure and my drum braked 1972 998 on 145/10 tyres is 52" wide between the outside edge of the tyres. The overall width of the car is a little more as the body seams and door mirror stick out a bit.

My 1275GT is also on 145/10 tyres, but is 55" wide between the outside edge of the tyres because of the wider track of the disc brakes and the broader rims.

Neither of my cars has wheel arch extensions.

The late Mini Coopers with those horrible 13" Supersport wheels and the massive flared arches are about three feet wider....

Not sure, but it's the only car you can drive over a couple of pedestrian only bridges in my area
