Mileage discrepancy

Looking for a bit of advice on a car i bought from a dealer 7 days ago. I decided to HPI check the car which showed a mileage discrepancy. In hindsight i should have got my own HPI beforehand (lessons learnt).
The mileages on mot show as follows:
2018 - 29,965
2019 - 65,583
2020 - 76,955
2020 - 47,817 - These two MOTS were on the same day at the same test centre. 2019 was also at the same test centre, i have service receipts which were done on the same days but do not show a mileage reading.
2021 - 54,230
2022- 66.642
Now the the odometer can be changed from Miles to KM, this makes me think whoever had it these two years was showing in KM and in 2020 the mot centre realised. From what i understand i'm within my right to return the car but i'm quite happy with it, just wondered if this will cause me problems down the line.

You could be right ,the 76955 is exactly 47817 miles so someone pressed a few buttons and changed the display from KMs to miles .
Sounds like nothing to worry about .
Just need to convince the next buyer down the line .
Edit ,someone also pressed some buttons in 2018 /19 to change from miles to KMs .possibly by mistake .

The miles to KM switch sounds credible and the calculations add up.
I'm not sure it will be a big deal come re-sale however it might be worth asking the dealer, it's the kind of thing the dealer should have spotted, and if they did they should have shared it with you.

It was an independent dealer, I'll give them a ring tomorrow to discuss it.
Honestly it was a rather strange buying experience, the salesmen barely said anything at all.
I felt the need to start small talk on the test drive as it became awkward, i just put it down to the way the market is and that they didn't need to put any effort in.

I don’t know how much of a headache it will be as long as you’re pro-active and out the explanation on the advert - it’s not like someone has knocked 100k miles off, it will be 30k miles on a 7 year old car. why dont you contact the garage who did the mot with the mileage issue and ask if they have kept invoices or copies, you can send them to the dvsa and get it amended.
Just done a similar thing to a customers car, Mot with km instead of miles

Your MOT was more than 28 days ago
Report the mistake to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to get it corrected.
You also need to email proof of the mileage, such as a scan or photo of:
an invoice for the MOT
an emissions printout
a service receipt
a vehicle job card from the MOT centre
They need to show what the mileage should be, and show the same date as the MOT test.
If your scan or photo includes personal information, for example your payment details, you should blank it out or remove it.
If you do not send the right evidence, DVSA will not fix the mistakes.
