Hello Mr Vet - has your car got VATS? (that is pellet in the key) - only 84 (maybe 85 too) didn't have this. It's not too bad an immobiliser, particularly since you can't just wire round it when it's enabled (it communicates with the ECM in code). In fact it's so effective it's held me up on a couple or few occasions (like at M2 services when late for the Eurotunnel eh Gixer?)
Think it would not be wise to talk about how to disable a Vette too much on here - bit public really...

No prob - if it's any comfort, on the whole thieves don't take too much notice of Yanks anyway, you'll notice we don't get so killed on insurance - that's half the reason. I've never had any thieves try mine (although no reason not to take care of your investment!) Vandalism is probably of greater concern.

I bought one from Claremont as they use them all the time. i had nothing but trouble. No starts etc. Turned out to be that. still have it in the garage somewhere - Do you want mine ????? Think they are fine for cars that are not used much but ionce they get weathered they start to play up.

In fairness I used to use one on my C3 and it worked fine, however I can imagine that the C4/C5 electrics/computers could well protest, so I'll bow to your knowledge (& experience) Brett...
