So who else has had the Email from The Home of the British GP stating that I need to give them an extra £99 to join some membership I don’t give a damn about in order to be able to get a decent seat next year?

What's this email thingy? I'm not a member myself but my boss is very high up at BRDC so if I know more I can ask him.

Judging by the outrage on the Silverstone F1 Camping groups, this is not very popular. I don't have the email yet.....

Just incase the £600 per ticket including parking wasn't enough you will now need to pay £99 to get priority booking for 48hrs.

I will never attend any event where you have to pay to join some club before even becoming eligible to buy tickets. It's particularly niggling when that membership only gives you "a chance of tickets in the random draw" - you might come away both empty handed and out of pocket.

I can see what they’re offering being good value if you live within a fairly short drive of the circuit and like to attend everything. But for fans of nothing but F1 it looks like unsavoury profiteering, which is something music lovers will have long been accustomed to.

Disgraceful profiteering, yet the event will be a sell out yet again.

Silverstone or F1 or both are simply trying to squeeze every penny they can out of punters, and pushing the event further out of reach of the average fan who is struggling in a recession.

If its any consolation, by the time we get to next summer, the £600 paid for a ticket today, will be barely more than the price of a weekly shop, and a week of electricity for a two bed flat

10% off food will pay itself back, surely?

what’s £600? I paid about £700 for a pair of tickets for the whole weekend in club a grandstand this year (admittedly the rest of club was sold out)

edit - Club A not club C.

Think my tickets for club platinum were £575 and then £60 split in half for parking.

I’ve done general admission, grandstands, full corporate in 2021 and watched it on telly this year. Genuinely preferred the telly.

I love going to the race, but always feel the need to re-watch it on tv a few days later.

And you tell me I am the doom monger. I hate to be smart but I told you so.

For Gods sake people vote with your feet, they are ruthless, profiteers, dont give them the satisfaction, the place is a dump, you are being fleeced routinely, and now this, it is outrageous.

So please, for God's sake and the future for all fans do not do this.

Its either this or 600 quid a ticket. This for them looks easier,

In all honesty Goodwood have done it for years for the MM and people still flock to watch bloody demo's, so I am sure tens of thousands of you will just hand over even more than before.

Before doing so, do the math, 400 thousand people paying at least 200 quid a ticket that's 80 million before you even start on other costs, car parks etc. Please do the right thing it is YOUR event, not theirs, the ya re robbing you. Dont make it easy for them.

I still plan in getting tickets for the GP but won’t be taking then up on the offer to join this club.

If the good seats are gone, then i just won’t buy one.

Either way they win, no one joins the club and it sells out.

Lots join the club and it sells out plus £99 from those that joined.

I have only ever been to two GPs in my life. Silverstone in 91 and Melbourne 2015 and after the Melbourne one I came to exactly the same conclusion.

£600 for a ticket! rofl

I guess F1 has never been so popular with record attendances. My mate and I have been paying into an account with a view to attending a race as he has never been. He has a campervan so Silverstone would be ideal. I couldn’t attend this year because of work but if this is the case, we will simply go to a Continental European race instead. Shame on the British GP organisers but as previously mentioned, English premiership clubs have been doing it for years and it’s a great way to make advance (extra) cash and the majority won’t get tickets due to the popularity and ballots.

Another mate forwarded a cheap deal for Hungary, I’ve been to Budapest for a holiday so it might be an option.
