What to do with a nice NB?

Around 2015 I was looking for some fun motoring for a bit and went MX5 shopping when they were cheap and there were still a lot of good ones around.
For around £1500 as I recall, I came home with this, a 1.8 SE (Nardi steering wheel, leather, hardtop) that'd been extremely well cared for and was in lovely condition and rot free.
A house purchase and a baby meant I was considering selling, but my dad said "it's too good to sell, I'll have it", and he's looked after it since, garaged and little used.
It's now got to the point where it's not easy for him to get in / out of it, and he's offered the car back to me. It's still in lovely condition, needs a good clean and the headlights want a polish - I'd love it back, but where to keep it? it'd be a third car for me after my daily and my Lancia Beta, so could be considered the classic without the headache, compared to the beta
Keeping it on the drive or the road is an option, although I'd rather not because rust
Renting another garage will mean it'll be about £1500 a year running costs just for storage, tax and insurance
Selling it - obviously if we went down this road my dad would do it and keep the proceeds, but from what I've seen, a decent original, low miles NB could be £4k?

What makes you think that it living on the driveway will ruin it? AFAIK these things tend to rust from the bottom up from being driven in the winter - if it's kept clean and free of salt a bit of rain water on the top shouldn't do it any harm.
I guess nothing, it's just that it's been garaged for so long has helped keep it in good order. The soft top won't like being outdoors forever but to be honest I prefer it with the hard top on.
