The longest it took you to sell your car
Discussion
I used to change cars a lot, I had three approaches, the first was obviously the likes of WBAC, I think 2-3 have gone that way, second is part ex. The third, for cars that I'd lose too much on I'd run a 30 days set price advert on Ebay, if it didn't sell I'd change it probably 4th week to an auction. I'd usually get a pile of offers at some point, don't think I've ever failed to sell one that way as you're really gauging the market price and then just matching it with what you're happy with.
Never had any luck with PH or autotrader (too many canvassers).

A couple of weeks.
If it's not shifting after a week drop the price. I don't see the value of waiting around for a months in the hope to get a few hundred more. The point of the private sale is to offer the car at well below trade value, but above trade in. Private sellers don't seem to grasp this, and most try to get trade prices for their private car hence why most don't sell. Why on earth would anyone take the risk of buying a private car without the reduced price.
