Obvious ones are 991 Turbo or Ferrari California. May be able to stretch to an FF.

Any other ideas or views on the above.

Rear seas more for luggage, odd person, future baby but no immediate kids to transport.

personally I like GT cars, so an Aston Martin DB11 or a late Vanquish could work. Maserati GT MC Nerissimo would be on my list too, awesome thing. Possibly a Bentley Continental, maybe the Mulliner. Heard very good things about the Lexus LC500, certainly eye catching. A Mclaren 570GT certainly looks like it would fit the bill. AMG GT worth a shout, cartoonish in a good way. Bit of an outsider, brand new top spec with change, Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio, great piece of kit, I'd be very tempted As this is PH a mint condition low mileage TVR Sagaris. Note: 8 series looks like a second hand 4 series and the Nissan GT-R is getting old and makes you look like a gamer.

It depends what type of 2+2 you want on the spectrum between sports car and grand tourer.
Also depends on how serious you are about being able to put an adult in the back.
Also depends on how 'ish' the budget it. Realistically an FF is £100k+

Once those are settled on it comes down to what pulls at your heart strings!
Out of the two above I'd take the 991. Re the Cali only the gen1 is under £80k, and that's a lot to pay for the badge on what was developed to be a Maserati. The Granturismo looks better, sounds better, is equally powerful and is substantially cheaper.
If I wanted to drop £70/80k on a Ferrari 2+2 it would be on a 612 Scag.

DB11 is a good shout-though again would stretch your budget. If you want usable rear seats then a Rapide S is worth considering-though very much a GT, as is the Conti GT naturally. Lotus Evora is a much sportier proposition

I was going to suggest a 991 GTS, didn’t think a turbine would fall into budget.

would you honestly have one of these over some of the other cars mentioned? I can't comment on the drive but it has a very bland interior and looks like a pumped up 4 series. Genuine question are they special? They just don't appear to be, could be an incredible drive, if that even matters these days.

I think it would be worth test driving all of the above.
Would love a Bentley GTC, or Ferrari, but not the probable higher maintenance costs.
Also consider a Merc SL63.

Just to add, its likely that it'll cost you less to run over the same period and not need £3kpa just to keep it fault free(or a lot more).

Go left field and look at a (crude) 2+2 - Challenger Hellcat:
huge boot
saloon sized rear seats
(relatively) low maintenance costs
choice of manual or auto
a fair chunk newer than the more prestigious options mentioned above
hold their value surprisingly well (possibly even better since the V8 is going to stop production next year?)
available in colours other than black/white/grey

As minuses:
a bit (lot?) crude compared to the oppo
image (if that's a factor)
lhd
definitely not as sophisticated as the oppo
a cruiser/gt rather than a sportscar

The only 2 I have experience of are the 911 Turbo S Cab that I own and a Ferrari California T that my business partner owns.

Both 2015, mine on 20k miles, his on 30k miles.

Both cost £98k, both with full warranties purchased from dealers earlier this year.

Interior of the Ferrari is prettier and also larger, externally I think the 911 looks better.

Driving wise, 911 is more fun and engaging, the Ferrari more GT and a bit more comfortable. I could never get to grips with all the controls being on the steering wheel though.

Finally, mine has been faultless, his is currently sat outside the office feeling sorry for itself after stting it's gearbox, luckily under warranty or we're told it'd be a £20k fix!

Its out of its league compared to some of the above options too, how ever well it drives. End of the day how often is this car driven anywhere near its limit. If you must have a fast BMW you'd be better off with an M4.
