Hi all,

Well, I collected my Lotus Exige (S2) last night, and had a thoroughly exciting (and educational) drive home. Don't think I've ever been as nervous before, but it turns out the thing is as easy to drive as my MINI.

Motorway driving is better than I expected, although I was a bit dissapointed that the Blaupunkt DAB radio was knackered - warranty jobbie that I suspect.

I noticed the cabin got quite hot, quite quickly, although the previous keeper had told me to expect this. Air-con makes it a bit more bearable, so I'm quite happy. I also love the Snooper and Bluetooth carkit that came installed.

Absolutely shocked by the fuel consumption levels. Drove 50 miles home, and then around another 50 miles of B-road blasting, and used something like £8-£10 of fuel. This makes the Exige more economical than either my MINI Cooper Works or my 1.8 Audi A4...madness!

I've still not got used to getting in and climbing out of the cabin - I looked a right tit at the petrol station. Ah well, sure I'll figure it out eventually.

I find the Exige a harsh ride, but not vastly worse than my MINI (although that's on 18" alloys), and speedbumps seem do-able as long as caution is used.

Anyways, just thought I'd let you all know about my new toy. I'll get a pic of it up on the profile when I get a chance to take a good one!

Regards,

Adam

Good choice.

Does it have the Touring Pack or Performance Pack?

I have the Performance Pack which has the lower spec stereo (Blaupunkt Lusserne (sp?)) which has been fine. I know a lot of people have had problems with the upgraded MP3 one which comes with the Touring Pack though.

Any mods to it? I can recommend the Stage 2 exhaust and an ITG induction kit. Makes it sound

As for getting in and out it does take practice. Getting in - left leg in and onto the kickplate then just let your arse fall back into the seat, then put your right leg in.

Getting out, put your hand in the outside sill and pull your upper body up so your arse is on the main sill then get your legs out one at a time.

All you need then is to get it on track.
