Evening all

Am seriously considering getting an ND 2.0 Manual later this year (would be my first MX-5) and have spent a few lazy afternoons trawling youtube videos etc from owners who have modded theirs.

A great deal of it is cosmetic and of no interest to me but I have noticed mention several times of a factory approved optional suspension upgrade to combat body roll and lower the stance of the car a bit. Bilstein kit I believe it is.

Is this really a genuine Mazda UK approved modification - something that is covered under warranty with the Mazda dealer? Or does it have to be part of the original supplying spec to preserve any warranty and not retro fitted by the buyer?

I had the lowering springs fitted by Mazda last week, big improvement.

I've done the Eibach Prosport springs + flyin miata geo. How it should have been from factory IMO.

Looking into an upgraded manifold + remap next, apparantly the stock one on the mx5 is fairly restrictive. Not really sure it actually needs this, but it's nice to tinker and other owners seem pleased with the results.

This may help;

Hi - apologies for the belated follow up. Is this the fitment that is factory approved and does it maintain warranty with Mazda?

Yes and yes. They are actually a factory option you can tick if buying the car new, or have them fitted to a used car as I did.

My RF is for sale *with* the Mazda lowering springs - welcome to view or try.

(I won’t link to it - should not be difficult to find!)
