Cylinder Heads

I need to replace the valve stem seals on the head currently fitted to a 1.3 Mpi. Is the head the same as fitted to earlier cars, as i intend to swap the head over with one slightly modded.;)

no.

the mpi head has a mounting point for the alternator on it, which the earlier heads dont have

Thanks for that, just found out after emailing Minispeed.

Is their Concept 36 head any good, and are there any Mini breakers in West Yorkshire?

why do need a breakers ? theres a good engine shop on Tihte st . Leicester M - D . they ll do exchange.

doubt you would find a second hand mpi head in a scrappers.

try john miniclassic 01909 591065 for a second hand head

or i would recomend m.e.d for a reconed or ported jobby

I was hoping not to have much downtime. The original head could stay on right up to me fitting the replacement.
