25k 2seater Convertible/Targa GT/Sport?
Discussion
Trying to convince the OH on swapping out one of the cars for something abit more juicy for the occasional trip to work/enjoying the country roads over in NI.
What recommendations would you guys have?
Looking at 2 seaters, (could be 2+2), either GT or Sportier numbers. Reliable enough, MPG not really an issue with the miles we’d be doing in it. Can be hard tops.
MX5 and the abarth are out already!
Any owners of the following with some reviews?
Slk55?
Elise?
Thanks

If you want something a bit different but still sensible & a good steer, then the C6 Corvette may just be what you're looking for.
The Targa is the better option rather than the convertible as they suffer from scuttle shake.

For your budget you'll get a really nice 370Z, Cerb has one on a readers thread so you can ask him about his ownership experience:

If you'd like a GT version of the 370Z then take a look at the Infiniti G37:

The 4.7TT SL500 is another car worth a look if you're wanting a GT:

The CL500 is a great GT with all the windows dropped away & the roof open they're as close to a convertible:

Or maybe go for a modern classic in the form of an RS4 convertible:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202207298...
I'm very bias on this one but a CLK63 is a great pick:

As ZX10R mentioned...I've been really happy with my 370Z GT Roadster.

Corvettes is an interesting one. Hadn’t considered. The Targa is the better option rather than the convertible as they suffer from scuttle shake.

I don’t think I could do the Merc interior, it’s dated and really has put me off them since trying a cls of the era. Which is a shame!
What other hard top cars come to mind?
I keep getting the LC500 adverts popping up currently, if I had the cash I think I’d splurge on trying one!

370Z Nismo are great drivers cars but they can also GT:I don’t think I could do the Merc interior, it’s dated and really has put me off them since trying a cls of the era. Which is a shame!

Finding it hard to get excited by the 370z, seems a good package but just not getting the wow. Even with the convertible. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208088...

Same feelings with the Ftype after speaking to my friend at Jag,
Wouldn’t go near a 640i. Another friend runs a garage and is a BMW specialist. He owned them all, he can’t stop himself but warns us about them.
The RCF idea has led me onto the ISF. Not exactly what I’m after but moving forward

If you are thinking of going in the direction of the ISF, what about the E9x M3 or a 6.2 V8 C63?
ISF beats both of them for me, Heard many a horror story with big bills on the m3 side, yes it’s great drive, but not with the bills that can come with it.
The c63 is associated with the wrong people round here. Not to fussed on how it looks either. The sound could be had from the ISF.
Not saying the ISF is perfect but I’ve got 2 Toyotas and I’ve had not issues with them at all. Even the 2JZ I’ve got has been perfect
