340D / 335D re-map? Anyone done it and pleased with results?
Discussion
Not a new 340d but I had my old 325d remapped by Celtic tuning. Mobile man came to my house and did it as there hq is hours from me. Huge jump in bhp/lbs on that model it was like a different car afterwards. Had it for 3 years after with zero problems.
They have a good website you can stick your car in and it tells you the gains.
335d below, very good gains from just a map

I’ve mapped both a 435d and now my current 335d. Night and day difference and I find a good map makes them smoother than stock. I can whole heartedly say driven normally they’re better on fuel.
370bhp is realistic and around 760nm of torque. You can push a little more with a gearbox map as it raises the torque limited.
I have an XHP gearbox map and made 381bhp and 771nm. My old 435d made 370bhp and 762nm without a gearbox map.
For a genuine 400bhp/800nm you need a intercooler.

There seems to be so many people re-mapping now. I wonder how many do a good and reliable job though?
Anyone here got a 335d, say after 2013, or a 340d and were impressed with the results of the changes?
Have had 2 BMW's done via Celtic - good reliable tunes, smooth power delivery and improved MPG. Anyone here got a 335d, say after 2013, or a 340d and were impressed with the results of the changes?
BMW 540i + 640d. Both great jobs.

Interested in having mine done. Fearing a big bill though. Be good to hear more real world stories, I am cynical about online review especially there are rumours of certain tuners threatening legal action if bad reviews are not taken down.
Have a chat with Simon at E Maps. He has done 4 lower output cars for me and i've always been pleased with results and the very good price. £299 and he comes to you.Ruskie said:

He gets 370 bhp and 540 ft lbs from your car. The torque output is kept sensible to protect the transmission, although 400 bhp and 600 ft lbs is available from other tuners. I'd always play safe with an engine that expensive.Electrics not for me said:

Plenty of complimentary testimonials on the e-maps site about maps carried out on the N57.
Have had a couple of BMWs mapped by Evolve too...........E36 M3 EVO and and E92 335i.............both excellent maps as well but I'd give to nod to Simon at e-maps; much lower pricing and also the fact that Simon will visit your home or workplace to carry out the work. ( iirc he's based in Walsall )

335d remapped (Celtic) here and its how it should have left the factory
no issues and i dont think i could have a standard 35d now, if I replaced it with a tourer it would get the remap on the way home
no point in waiting just get it done

What's the fuel economy post remap on a 335d like?
My old E92 and current 640GC with newer version of N57 were/are 36~37 on average, with a lot of short journeys. Both achieve(d) 48~49 on longer run.The E92 made 291 stock and 347bhp mapped........ and 640D makes ~ 320 stock and 370-375 mapped ( with 520 lb-ft

have just booked in the 640d to have a gearbox and stage 1 remap with celtic.
they come to your house aswell. total £500
i was looking at VRS but for a stage 1 and XHP map it was almost 1k.
i doubt the difference will be much even though VRS claim it is a custom stage 1. not £400 worth anyway.
im expecting around 370 and maybe 750nm from celtic.
