2006+ Legacy GT estate in white?

Every few months I convince myself this is the perfect car and then try and find one...I haven't seen one for sale in a while - I don't mind if manual or auto but ideally want less than 100km on the clock - does anyone have one they are thinking of moving on any time soon?

There’s loads for sale. Where are you looking? There’s a dealer near me who brings them over nearly every month. If you check the usual JDM dealers, most of them will have one in stock or due in.

Its always a suggestion to check the Australian market too and maybe import your own? Its also RHD, and Subaru have a big following, though pricing may be off-putting, there are sometimes bargains out there.

I personally really like the look of the Gen 5 - performance and fuel economy both much better than the Gen 4 too.

I am still on the look out - there is not much around at the moment other than dealers with cars still up at peak Covid lockdown prices that aren't selling

And I had a late-2012 Gen 5 GT wagon, in white, with manual box for 4 years. Readers Car thread on it somewhere.

Awesome thing, likely would never have sold it if we hadn’t outgrown it.

I have just pressed the button on a Gen 5 6speed manual 2.5L Turbo, should be here in about 3 months...

I have a lot of reading to do...

It'll be my third Subaru, so I sort of know what to expect. My game plan is to keep it long term as a kids & dog wagon, as no one seems to make fast manual estates any more.

My plans are to treat it to a good service and then maybe a few light upgrades, depending on what my local Subaru specialist recommends... Maybe a few suspension/chassis tweaks and perhaps a bit of intake/exhaust/remap for a bit more noise and power...

OK, I will see what I can do regarding a thread. I've been a member on PH since 2001 and I have never posted a photo before... Is that a record?

Any pointers for upgrades? I hear Whiteline are good for ARBs etc...?

White line and Cusco are good for go fast bits. Not sure if it's the same on the gen5, but in the gen4 the ARB mounts are fairly weak, so if you upgrade the rear ARB then it's a good idea to strengthen the mount too.

Do you mind asking how much you paid, the manuals carried a significant premium when I imported mine last year.

As above, head gasket is a weak spot so anything more than a bar of boost and you will compromise the the gasket.

Ts has same drive train and engine, it has a different back box but same output as the GT.

It does have a few chassis tweaks, which are available from Subaru…import only from Japan.

What's the combined MPG like on a gen 4 auto GT does anyone know?

Also, what's the situation with unleaded? 97 at a minimim? Just, I've seen a few cars for sale noted with 'mapped for UK fuel' and wondered if this was a necessity?

65 litre tank or there abouts. I don't run it fully empty and tend to get about 400 miles.

Wants to be run on 99 octane on it's stock map.
