I'm responsible for the warehouse of a phrama manufacturing site. It's kind of a unique setting but I may be able to help.

Edit - my actual title is supply chain planning manager. I cover logistics too.

Hi there, I hope that you are doing well. I have worked in a logistics company ( https://www.armstrongwarehousing.com/ ) for a little more than 8 years now. I started as a packer and worked my way up as a warehouse manager. I am now a Distribution Manager and my team looks after a few warehouses and a few depots spread out across the city. I have seen and experienced everything when it comes to unloading and delivery of goods. . You can ask me any questions in your mind. Let me know how can I help you.

Yes, used to work in a book warehouse, goods in dept. Awful place. Management seem to think intimidation bullying and threats are a good way to get the job done.
Never know what time you're going to finish, different every day.
Also worked at a now defunct parcel firm, the one w green & yellow vans.
Four til nine am, then four til nine pm. Quite when they think you're supposed to sleep I'm not sure. Another one w shouty managers. No wonder they went bust. Does that answer your question?
