I'm looking for ideas hehe I always struggle when taking pictures at car shows, I never really seem to get the composition right.

So this month, let us see everyone's best efforts with pictures taken at Car Shows.

A few examples.

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible

We are lucky to have a bunch of top-level car shows here in St. Moritz every year. My favourite in the ICE in Feb. This was taken at the first edition:

As well as the static display (free, open to the public) the owners get to drive around the horse-racing track on the frozen lake. This photo was taken in 2020 the day before the show was cancelled (Covid) so doesn't count for the competition.

This year's show was bigger. It says much the quality of the cars that a Ferrari 250 GTO can be there and isn't automatically the star of the show.

From a few years ago at Ultimate Dubs, where it was impossible to get a proper shot of a car without a crowd round it.
So I tried to make the crowd work as part of the photo.

A venue I'm sure is familiar to more than a few PH'ers.

1 series 'Northern Romp' run with my 130i.

Driving a C and D-Types on ice in Switzerland? That's so lovely it would have to be in the 1950s.

It gets better. The sight of the chap on the right being pulled on those wooden skis behind the Bentley was a sight to behold.

Almost all the cars are on spiked tyres but the owners do drive them in a spirited manner.

I used to be a regular in this part of Pistonheads but over the years kind of stopped taking many pics, I was building an extension on our house and then Covid. I have recently picked up the camera again though and got really inspired when I went to the Hot Rod Hayride reunion recently and it all came flooding back. I find car show pics work better as a set so you get the atmosphere of the event. But in the spirit of the competition I've narrowed it down to one that I really like. I think this takes you back to '60s California even though it's Surrey 2022.

One from the ‘keeper selection’ from the last few months. Great idea to share the photos, it’s tricky to get a clean image from a car show but I find the 85mm helps get in tight

Here's one of my car at Stonor park earlier this year. It's not good enough for a competition, but any excuse to post it...
