EV Corvette, but not a sports car anymore???

EV doesn't do it for me. Somebody referred to one as being little more then a racey electric toothbrush.

The Corvette. A fantastic, if flawed car since it was born. Updated and improved for many decades, with admittedly some balls-ups along the way, to a point where the engine is in the right place and the steering wheel is too.
We now discover that the next one will have 1 gear and be silent, unless you want to download a F1 car racing sound track or something to play through the speakers.
R I P Corvette the moment the V8 is removed.

They're going to use the Corvette name on an electric saloon or SUV. Isn't that exactly what Ford have done with the Mustang?
