Wot Am I to Do?

Reet - need to get slightly serious for just a moment.
Mrs Ex and Little Ex are away in the UK for a whiles. Coming home on Sunday.
Some of you might be aware that I am currently jobless - allthough I do have some uprated contracts to fulfill over the next few days, so some work is in order.
So far -
I've drank two bottles of wine, put on Mrs Ex's underwear and slammed the old fella in the fridge door a few times.
Swept the garden path of all the dead flying pikeys.
Posted utter garbage about 'that's you that is'.
Likely there will be a few nights down the local with a couple of mates.
I need stuff to do!
It's not our house so much as I'd like to paint all the walls a nice shade of fucsia - it's not really an option.
The rally car needs a new engine but given the employment state I can't really justify the expense.
Go-Karting might be an option on Saturday...
Play Station bores me to tears when there isn't another human to compete against.
I'm getting tired of deliberately leaving the windows open so I can feel good about about putting critters back out side again.
Still have heaps of episodes of Comic Strip to watch but I'm really yearning for something a bit more interractive.

Mate - I see you live in Cornwaaallllll and Ireland probably aint much diffrent, init, but I have lots of books.
But common - shirley can do better than this. You see the only problem is that the only book on my shelf unread is O'Reilly's 'NET Web Services' hardly exciting.

now there's something I haven't tried. B.T.W. This is in no way a dig at you getting into books - they're great and if your're stuck I can reccomend 10s of them to you - books are always good but right now I need something a bit more exciting.

You could kill plenty of time by buying a new sim card and some credit, and orchestrate "The Big Knock" on your least favourite neighbours house 
Spend a day compiling a list of all the pizza, pasta and prostitute houses within 30 miles, order for a party of 12 men, and instruct the service providers all to arrive at 11pm sharpish, telling some to come to the front door, others the side entrance, some to wait in the cars, some to go round the back and just let themselves in
Pull it off and the addrenaline rush should dispel any boredom... I would imagine
If the guy also happens to be alone whilst his wife is away, with some good footage you could spend the next day deciding which TVR the blackmail money would buy you

God's Breath - I'd really go for this. Man it would be so funny, but I really don't hate any of the neighbours that much. Oooooops hang on - there is one.... now if only I can find some 'delivery services' that will take up the fight == (double == intentional) not a fecking hope in this area, but I like your idea. I like it big time.

Wot sort of engine? But heck, we don't have a diff after various parts of the gearbox etc disintegrated at the weekend, it's kinda fun when the front wheels lock up at 60mph. A shame really, we were leading the class at the time, dontcha just love it?
Anyway, things ain't that much more interesting in London at the moment, I'm almost tempted to rewrite FIDSnet again, but then again, I'm not THAT bored.

2litre Astra GTE - got a red top in at the moment but I'd take anything - unfortunately the head warped after a radiator leak and me not noticing the temp gauge had nailed itself into the red. By the time we came to a halt there was some nasty banging coming from the bottom end too

Ahh, for our Astra we use a 1400 16v, just sold our old 1300 lump recently, strangely enough it came 3rd in class at the weekend. I think we might have sold the only 2litre we had lying around.

Yeah it is, but nothing earth shattering, part of that is motivation on my part to keep it up to date. It just generates a few grand a year which mainly drops straight into my rally pot. It's all still pretty domestic, Guernsey still (new terminal), Glasgow Prestwick, H&I Kirkwall, Coventry, Derry and a little bit at Heathrow T4, some talk of somewhere in Bangladesh and Nigeria but I'll believe that when I get the purchase order.
Being in almost the same position as you I can suggest only one thing.
Go and buy a big bloody traction kite, they are hilarious.
I've spent more time in the park in the last week than I have since jumpers for goal posts, isnt it, wasnt it?
Added bonus is you're always pulling against your own weight in effect, so 3 hours power kiting is easily equivalent to an hour in the gym with the added benefit of not looking like a hamster, more a very large puppet...from a distance...if you squint.

Hmmmm, yeah, I think that was just another in the long line of innovations that missed the boat as it were. Let's face it, there's a limited amount of ways in which you can represent the information, they're bound to all end up looking very similar. I suspect we should have offered to sell it to the folk that got City that time, they didn't have it, we did, could have cleaned up, 20/20 hindsight eh?

I've got them somewhere, must dig them out to remind myself what a thoroughly unhealthy place it was, still I liked sitting in a bar at the weekend drinking subsidised beer and still getting paid my day rate.
