Have been reading the Australian LS1 and Holden Forums & was directed to this thread: http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=34619&page=1&pp=15

It says that using 12v 65w H9 Halogen bulbs in the driving projector lights gives you a far better & brighter headlights & it works as I did the mod tonight. It took me 20 mins as I needed to remove a lug on the bulbs I bought.
The bulbs are the same as the full beam bulbs but because they run through the projector lens they don't affect other drivers. :)
The wiring can run not a problem with the extra 10ws the H9s require.
It has made such a difference to the normal driving light infront of you.

Have a read & give it a go.

Top mod in my eyes. I got the bulbs for £20.

Excuse my stupidity but are driving lights the normal ones you would have on during the night ? ie not the ones that come on with full beam ?

Correct Count. This mod replaces the current low-beam globes with the same globes you get with High/Full Beam, thus giving you more light when driving on dipped beam (normal driving position).

However the key to this great mod is that you must have the 'Projector' headlight cluster. The thread explains how to identify them, but basically these are the cars it'll work on:

VY s1 and s2 berlina and calais
VZ berlina, Calais and SS including ute
All V2 monaros
2002 WH statesman international and international LS8
WK and WL statesman and caprice
All VY and VZ hsv
WK and WL hsv grange

Earlier models use H1 & H4 IIRC so they're a no-go for this mod.

Check first before you rush out and buy the globes.

Will, Having scanned through the link, I assumed this mod couldn't be done on a VT/VX. Have you done it on your car?

Did you guys buy an H.I.D (xenon) conversion kit? I've toyed with idea, as I've seen quite a few available on the net for VT/VX's.
Some seem easier to fit than others & prices seem to vary considerably.
Any further info. would be appreciated.
