First episode of The Newsreader last night - Sunday. A good watch. Got the second 55 minute episode recorded to watch at my leisure.

Lots of that eff word. Is it authentic? No idea. But I enjoyed it, a six parter, I believe.

Australian production? Nobody cusses like the ockers.

Lack of cussing would just aggravate the rivet counters on matters of authenticity, see Line of Duty thread about BMW E** model numbers. You'd get folks going, "What rubbish, in that situation they were called a useless f***er, proper Aussie would have called him a c***."

Took a while to get going for me, but I'm in.

Yes, us too. Far superior to The Control Room

First couple of episodes in, and enjoying it. Kind of like an Aussie Mary Tyler Moore show, with more grit.
I understand why it's shot in sepia for the 70s beige look, but that's a bit annoying really.

I've just finished the series, I enjoyed it but why all the warnings early on about suicide scenes ?

Just what I thought. I just watched episode 3 & 4 last night. Warnings given, but I didn't see anything suicide related, just Helen making excuses with her doctor to get more meds.....!

I didn’t notice any warnings but watched on iPlayer so no announcements. Won’t win any awards but definitely a cut above a lot of the junk on tv at the moment.
