Mx5 colour code????

Hi guys,

I’m doing some repair work to my 1999 MX5 MK2 passenger door and want some paint mixing up to match but cannot find the body colour code? I have looked everywhere, there’s a plate in the engine bay just stating the VIN number and another on the door strut, any help much appreciated,

It’s SU red. That’s what it’s known as, but there are different variants depending on the year.

They might want the paint manufacturer's code, in which case:

Make/Year Code : SU

In my experience, a red MX5 Mk2 - even if its showing on the info label as HU Classic Red - will actually be Eternal Red, code A3E. Eternal Red is pretty well the same shade but has a clear coat over the top to help stop the fading that earlier Classic Red cars suffered from.
