Apologies if this has been covered before, but can the Fk8 Type R settings be customised (coded) via the OBD2 ?

If so whats the best reader and software (have Bimmercode for the wifes) Mini

In particular, getting on a bit and suffering high frequency hearing loss I cant get on with the low frequency "drone" from fake exhaust through the speakers on many cars does the FK8 have this?

My understanding is that only the face lifted FK8 has piped in sound. It’s one reason I only want a pre facelift.

However I’m not sure if it can be switched off as per the GR86 - which can either be done by the dealer or a fuse pulled I believe.

Worth a call to the Honda dealer if you’re looking for a facelift.

Thanks Acme, will do. Its a brand new delivery miles one I'm picking up on Thurs

I did OBD/ it off on my GR Yaris with Carista hence the question. I have since found a video on how to disconnect the "fake noise" generator on an LHD version by pulling out a plug but dont know if the location is behind the glovebox in the RHD

Also, dont want to trigger any OBD codes by doing so on a new, Honda warrantied car

I’d have thought the dealer could do it, after all it’s just a speaker.

I’ve not test driven a facelift but have various pre facelifts and they don’t drone as per the previous gen FK2 did, after a test drive of that I couldn’t live with it.

You’re very lucky to a delivery mile one, please post up some pics etc.

Enjoy the delivery day, cheers.
