How to fit a bypass hose on an 82 Mayfair

Hi, over the weekend i attempted to fit a new bypass hose. It was bad enough trying to get the old one off but managed to do it eventually. Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to fit the new one without taking the rad, water pump, thermostat off etc? Help

take off rad , water pump etc ! DONT fit one of those "easy" fit convoluted jobs . sorry .

I always bolt the manifolds onto the head using 5/16th UNK x 1.25" long hex head bolts as a replacement for the nasty studs.
Then, it's just so easy to lift the head, change this stupid hose, fit a new head gasket and manifold gasket and restore the reliability (what reliability!). A good quality by-pass hose will last for ages, but those concertina ones are so hard to fit and don't last long either.
Of course, the best thing to do is to fit a Metro water pump, which doesn't have the by-pass hose, blank off the head and drill a few holes around the stat edge to allow water to still flow a bit whilst the stats closed, after all, that's all the by-pass hose is for.

Drop the water pump.

Its a better fix in the long run.

Half inch silicon hose (managed to get an off cut for nowt luckily) and it will probably never need doing again.

Or just do away with the bloody thing!
