Don't these run on Nissan 200SX running gear?

I believe they also do one based on a Mustang.

I think it's all metal construction too, not fibreglass.

I think their motto used to be "We are happy. It's not logical."

The fact that this even exists makes me happy. What a truly pointless monstrosity, yet somehow spellbinding in the collision of the Japanese luxo-interior and the…. different…… exterior.

If I've deciphered the ebay speak correctly, it's a Nissan Cedric

I love these Japanese oddities, it also gives us perspective on how some cultures are viewed by others. I had an S-cargo briefly, simply to sell on but I'd love another, or the Nissan Pao.

Kinda my view on it. I just don't think I could afford to spend that much on a car I would hardly ever want to be seen in. You wouldn't want to become known as "that man who drives the weird car"

Mitsuoaka Le Seyde is the one I'm thinking of. Looks like Liberace's car.

Yep agree.

Someone once went into a showroom, looked at that and said " I want that car". It wasn't me, but if I were flush with cash I'd buy that

for my wife to drive.

There’s a place near me that sells these, or used to - I think they sell more run of the mill Japanese imports now. There are a few Mitsuokas running around locally, the one I see most often is (I think) based on a Suzuki 4x4 but styled to look 1930s. Ish. Don’t want one, but glad they exist. I love/hate this one…

They do a roadster in the UK based off the MX5, I quite like it.

https://www.mitsuoka-motor.co.uk/used-cars/

They have done loads of different cars over the years, I used to look at them on the import sites.

If the links work…. I just like these.

The rockstar, also mx5

The buddy, rav4 based

Yeah whoah the Galue is something else. Their MX5 based things lately look pretty good. They do another one which looks like an old Corvette. That Ebay advertiser has a couple of "interesting" vehicles, this one for the budding mini cab operator who wants to carve out their own territory: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265746490630

Not my cup of tea at all, but I'm glad they're out there all the same.

Amazingly I even used to see one of these (the Le Seyde mentioned above) in the capital of Angola

It looks no better in real life lol
