991.1 GT3 prices
Discussion
I’m in the market for a 991.1 GT3 after disappointing GT4 and Exige test drives.
I had assumed 100k would get me into a well specced example with buckets, Clubsport and some carbon however the prices seem to have really inflated. Are these cars selling for the advertised prices?
Anyone picked one of these recently under asking price?

Mine was advertised at 113K with an OPC last July, i didn't pay asking - however that was for 10.7k miles, clubsport with heated buckets, carbon interior, extended leather, new front end and arches PPF, wheels painted silver and handful of good extras also and 24 month OPC warranty. They seem to be holding ground a little and the fact the 997.1 & 2 prices seem to have sky rocketed i think helps this. The car market is due a correction shortly IMO so id expect to see prices on almost everything soften in the coming 12 months, problem is you can wait and wait.

I'm not convinced GT3 prices will drop.
992s are impossible to get allocation on and 991.2s are getting harder to find good specs.
991.1s seem to be going up quicker, I bought mine for £100K in December, same car is 110K today. The good ones sell instantly, the ok ones hang around for a while.
People who can afford GT3s are not going to sell theirs in a hurry, if anything, when money goes tight, I think people will stick to what they have - so you could expect less to come onto the market - this should hold prices up, they may not go up more, but I don't see them coming down.

I noticed cars going very quickly when I started looking, so when I found one that I liked I just paid asking price as the dealer was clearly not in the mood to budge, unsurprisingly.
Glad I did, the ones around my budget now all have something missing from what I got and nothing extra that I’d possibly want but didn’t get.

Out of interest, why are Ashgoods three RS's sticking around for so long?
I thought the UV colored 991.1 RS's were in high demand. They look cool.
I considered it, but no warranty and no way am I buying a Porsche with known engines issues with no warranty, plus its a 150k car, crazy no warranty.I thought the UV colored 991.1 RS's were in high demand. They look cool.

I'd have thought Ashgood might prep car and put it in for a 111 check so any potential buyer can get warranty hassle free?
EAG have or did have a UV as well, a nicer car with warranty.
I paid 110k for my 991.1 GT3, I was happy to pay the price as it was Guards red a favourite colour of mine as most the 991.1 GT3's are boring colours, white, silver, black which are not for me, so when a red came up with heated buckets I grabbed it straight away. Plus it had 2yr OPC warranty included!
Chucking my data into the ring. I bought an OPC car for £102.5k in November, I would expect the same car to be listed today for £105-107k.
Spec and warranty seem to sell these cars, a dealer with a good spec car will not feel obligated to offer a discount at the moment. There is still a lot of liquidity in the system and most GT3 owners, as pointed out above, will just hold onto the cars if for some reason demand drops off.
I put a search in for all GT3s available on PH recently, the cheapest one I would buy (not too leggy or modified) was £88k, a 996 variant. This suggests to me that a 991 and what it offers is good value in the 105-115k region they currently occupy. There is still a healthy gap to a 991.2. Overall, i'd not expect much change in price for 12 months.
Certain GT3's, such as the 997.2 seem to have risen a lot recently, but I think the instigators of this are pushing their luck, the 991.1 market doesn't to my eyes appear the same.

991.1 GT3 prices will likely be effected by the depletion of the 10 year warranties on the G Series engines - although still warrantable through Porsche, but that 10 year warranty isn't quite the selling point it was a few years ago. I'd be looking towards the .2 cars now.
Keeping the warranty flowing is very important and as most owners do this a 991.1 GT3 is one hell of a car. The 991.1 GT3 is a slightly rawer car, marginally better sounding, slightly harsher ride but these attributes help to make the car a very enjoyable road car. The 991.2 GT3 is a better car, without doubt, more reliable engine and if you have total dis-regard for speed limits the gen 2 car will flow down a country B road and carry some amazing speed as it is better damped less harsh than the .1 car
For me as a fun weekend car with odd track day, I prefer the .1 car, if I was using a GT3 daily or doing a lot of track days the gen2 car is the one to go for.
Both have their market demand and is why the prices of both generation are holding firm. Both are fantastic!

I didn't even bother to ask for anything off either, saw the car I wanted and put the deposit down Glad I did, the ones around my budget now all have something missing from what I got and nothing extra that I’d possibly want but didn’t get.

Of course it depends if the car is fairly priced to begin with, mine was from Ashgood who are generally very competitively priced.
