I'm running 225/40/18's on my CLK and i'm sick of replacing tyres with sidewall damage after hitting pot holes in london.
I've tried Pirelli P-Zero Nero , and Conti Contact Sport both brands tend not to be that good in this respect.

Nokian do a Kevlar sidewall but not in my size of tyre.

Anyone know a brand that's a bit tougher on the sidewall ?
Danke : )

Only solution is to go down to 17" and a 45 profile. A 40 profile on a 225 tyre is a 90mm ish sidewall, which is pretty small. Experience has told me anything less than a 100mm ish sidewall is asking for knackered wheels and tyres.

If you're considering changing size, plug some numbers in here: https://tiresize.com/comparison/
You've currently got a very low sidewall!

The ideal solution is a full set of proper wheels for the same car with a smaller diameter and therefore taller sidewalls, but it'll cost you.

What about extra load/reinforced tyres, AIUI the construction is a bit more robust, but it might give a harsher ride as well.

Look up your council site to find any pothole reporting service. I reported some big ones and they were filled quite promptly. Surprised a busy place like London has them.
