Should this be of concern or not, the car is only 2 years old and has a low 9k mileage but is listed with 4 owners.
I haven't contacted the selling garage yet but will, of course, do so, but was just wondering....why ?
Cheers
Brian.

Rather not say at the moment but budget is £25k to £40k and it's not at the lower end.

I was thinking porsche caymen/boxter or similar. In which case, I would not be worried too much. If if is the type of car someone buys for the summer etc. Or was rareish when new

Ooooh a mystery....

Depends what it is and the circumstances. Can the owner/dealer not explain why it's had so many owners?

I'm not trying to create a mystery and I will be asking the selling garage.
It is not a 'weekend' or 'track' style car, just an everyday jobbie but a nice one.
Cheers
Brian.

Presume it will have a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer and maybe get dealer to top it up for another year or 2?

Could be that it was a pre reg and that second owner got rid over covid times and then next one just couldn’t get on with it for some reason.

This, otherwise waste of time even asking. What do you think is going to happen, somebody on here buy it under you ?
If a specialist model it could be ok.
If it’s a black diesel E class then think very hard if it’s had mileage correction.

Exactly. Mileage is about right for someone wfh, but the number of owners would depend on the type of car.

if it bothers you then it's probably going to bother the next owner when you come to sell it on.

Are there other examples available with only 1 or 2 owners ?

In these last few years 1 or 2 owner changes could be due to an unexpected change in circumstances, furlough, redundancy, WFH, etc but 4 ?

It would bother me TBH. I would think "lemon" that four people have passed on in a relatively short space of time.

Are there any other similarly spec'd models of the same car with similar mileage on sale, with fewer owners, around the same price?

Go for one of those.

How long do you plan to keep it?

Dealers are the one's who are most bothered by it, many will simply say "sorry, not for me"

Are you likely to be selling it whilst it's still youngish?, and still high value?

To many buyers it does matter, so dealers are reluctant accordingly.
