Well I spent yesterday and this afternoon, not in the Griff but getting my little used 1040 back on the road!!! Soon I shall be insured and running again!!! Just thought I'd share how much fun it was getting back behind the wheel (in the drive of course) and it's louder than my Pre Cat Griff!!

Unfortunately had to substitute the twin 1" 1\4s for a HIF 38 to get it started as the twins were never set up but all seems go!! A new speedo cable and hopefully I'll meke Coombe this year. Sadly I have found some rust. Mind you it has been sitting for 3 years now.

Yes, I know the feeling. Just sold my SEAC but I can now concentrate on real motoring!

Fired up my turbo Mini at the weekend... just needs an MOT and after nearly 6 years sitting in the garage, I'm back on the road . I have already written up a substantial wish list of course, but that's part of the joy of mini's.

I may have had the car nearly 20 years, but it still feels fresh & fun (if a little crusty around the edges...).

Similarly, it is almost exactly 10 years since I bought my Mini, and it is being MoTed today and will hopefully be back on the road after a lay-up of 3 or 4 years (I can't even remember, it has been so long). Just need to get a quieter exhaust and it'll be Track Day ready. (Which reminds me to dig up an old thread which I don't think got any replies at the time).

Excellent.

Very good to hear of all these little gems tucked away ready to be fired up with a small amount of work...

My 1964 Cooper 'S' rally car has been in the workshop since January when i stripped the transfer gears, but it's almost back together now and I can't wait to drive it in competition again. I've been preparing and using my Rover 214 Si Enduro formula rally car for events this year, but whilst that's fun, it just ain't a Mini.
Anyway, it's at 1310 cc now, with fully rebuilt engine and box, new front right wing, new sills and rear valence (thanks Chris Spennewyn), the latest Mini Spares SCCR gears and drop gears, Karl Schmidt pistons (bloody expensive at £400 per set, but worth it). Should have about 115 bhp at the flywheel.
