That is beyond barbaric behaviour.

How would it even work in the UK? Am I being naïve or would it require so many trained operating theatre staff, equipment, changes to the organ donor recipient register, etc that it would need a fully staffed underground hospital somewhere?
I'm a medic and can't make head or tail of this I've just posted on Doctor.net thread title 'Trafficking for organ harvesting WTF?'Organ transplantation requires organ and donor matching.
Organ storage and transportation
Cross matched blood
Needs anaesthetist and surgeon and associated health care professionals
Needs machines including bypass machines where necessary.
Pre and post operative nursing care
Transplantation for private patients does occur in the NHS eg no UK donor match for an organ or organ not suitable for UK/NHS use, Arab flies in and pays for a kidney, liver etc. on NHS
And above all else letting the kid die under anaesthesia and disposing of the body in full view of the other clinicians involved in the harvest procedure.
Probable double figures of doctors involved in a transplant and at least twice that many associated health professionals. I know Nigerians have a reputation for being dodgy but this is pushing the boat out.
It happened in South Africa in netcare hospital(s), one of the largest private group of hospitals in South Africa and until fairly recently, netcare also happened to run BMI, one of the largest group of uk private hospitals.
As above poster mentions, the number of people that must have been involved…..let that sink in. Key is that it’s not just the surgery, the enormous resources required for matching compatible donors etc.

I initially saw this and thought WTF but the fact their daughter needs a kidney 'kind of' brings sense to it
Not an expert however would the following work?
Kid is a random and basic blood tests already say a decent match
London private hospital so not NHS
Bulls
t cover story of how kid is related to donors familyBrown envelopes all round for doctors stuffed with £££££££
Or maybe not to above and its all legit usually with real consenting donors?????
Hospital gets paid and asks no questions
Kids loses one kidney but is sent back home with the other and an Airfix model for their trouble
Cheers
Apparently they were on their way to Istanbul

Where these people come from life is cheap, almost worthless. The number of steps to harvest will be 2 maybe 3.
