I've spent the last few weeks searching and I'm struggling.
Does anyone know where or if it is indeed possible to watch the GP live in New York (Manhattan) ? We're there for a work thing and the idea of having brunch / beers in a bar watching the race is very appealing. i had hopped with the uptake of fans etc it would be possible, but my googling is really letting me down.

Which network shows the US GP over there? That's where I'd start. Then Google sports bars that have that network.
They all have multiple screens and can typically switch one if you ask. So long as a big national event isn't on at the same time.
Or just get F1TV and watch on phone/tablet. You can sign up and then cancel for next to nothing.

If you can't find anywhere with ESPN..... do you know what a VPN is?
Virtual Proxy Network - a downloadable plug-in for your phone, laptop or tablet. You open it, and select a county and that's where everybody sees you as being. So select the UK, fire up Sky Go and you're all good.
It's often not quite that easy these days. Many streaming services have their own accounts with all the major VPN providers, it tells them the IP addresses they're using and they block those addresses. The user gets a 'please disable VPN and try again' message.Virtual Proxy Network - a downloadable plug-in for your phone, laptop or tablet. Paying a little extra for a dynamic IP address sorts it.

ESPN have it, and it’s the full syndicated Sky coverage from T-90’, the same way Sky do with the US coverage of Indycar races.
Remember that the start will be at 10am in NY though, so perhaps look to hotels rather than bars.
Lots of Manhattan sports bars are open at that time. I lived in LES and the local bar catered for the staff coming off the night shift at the nearby big hospital. OP where will you be?Remember that the start will be at 10am in NY though, so perhaps look to hotels rather than bars.

I use Express VPN which I assume offers the 'dynamic' option. I certainly have no issues accessing any UK content regardless of location.
Have you used it this year? In previous years it’s worked well for me - but NowTV wouldn’t work this year whilst trying to watch in Dallas. But at the same time I forgot about ESPN and to rub salt in the wound I was just down the road from a massive Hooters that would have been showing it Petrus1983 said:

Dynamic IP VPN is now what I would recommend for anyone that travels a lot.
Although mostly I'd recommend watching in hooters. Duh..
