British GP - haven't been since '97 what's changed?
Discussion
We're off to the GP in a few weeks and I was wondering, what's the craic these days?
Last time I went it was with my wife who had won a work incentive and got hospitality for the day. We just sat back and enjoyed the view from our enclave.
This time I'm taking the kids (no longer kids really ) on race day and wondered what there is to see away from the trackside areas. Is it just the usual over priced souvenirs and burgers still?

Not been but a guy who works for me goes every year (I must pay him too much ) and yes it is as you say, he takes his own food.
I think another recent change is that your ticket roots you to a spot, you used to be able to wander around the grandstands for a few different views but now your seat is your seat for the weekend.
Apparently getting in and out is a nightmare so plan in a lot of time for that.

.....racing has got worse.
I can believe that - first time I went, I was on the banking towards the end of the Hanger Straight when Mansell over took Piquet. The atmosphere was amazing! When we bought the tickets, it was with the thought that the kids would enjoy seeing Lewis while he was still racing. Obviously, much has changed and I think they're just going to enjoy the spectacle - and my daughter has a quiet crush on Carlos

I think it's the same as ever, where you get a 'roving' seat on Friday and Saturday, and a fixed spot for the race on Sunday, isn't it?Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
