Taking photos for motorway?

Hi all
Ive got as far with Motorway(the car buying lot) as they want me to take some photos of my car.
Would taking them on the drive or road be ok or would I better trying to find somewhere better? If so any ideas for "better"?
Also I did wash and spruce up a week or so ago but the inevitable dust has built up, should I wash and spray wax again first?
If it was a private sale I would obviously do this prior to photo but the motorway buyers are dealers apparently so may not be interested in pretty photos so much?
I did do a search of the site for "photo car sale" via google but nothing came up.
Tips welcomed.

I have just sold a car via motorway.
Photos taken on the drive on a sunny day (for best pictures clarity).
The motorway cars are bid on by dealers, I don’t think that having a country house in the background is going to influence their price.
The motorway app shows car outlines which you need to fit the car photos into, it doesn’t give much scope for showing the background.
I got a really really good price with my basic photos (was asked to retake a couple of the tyre photos as the tread wasn’t clearly visible.)

Wouldn't bother, they have a set of angles they need and none of them are very close up except of the wheels and tyres. You just have to tell them about bodywork marks but the general stuff is from a fair distance so cleaning isn't worth your while.
I would say the car should be clean, present it in it's best light if you want the best price. Interior vacuumed, all personal belongings removed etc.Car dealers are a lot more pragmatic than your average private punter.

They found some previous repaired paint work I had never noticed, and I bet they never bothered fixing it before they put it on at their massive mark-up - as you know the name of the dealer buying the car you can see what they advertise it for.

Nothing fancy and got more than original price. Found uploading the photos was abit of a pain using their template thing, it crashed my phone regularly but got there eventually.
Pick up was a complete pain for me, but that’s because the dealer used a third party transport company and the guy was an arse. Told me outright his job was to find faults and knock money off the agreed price. After a bit of a stand off and call to the purchasing dealer I got the full price.

Do you have to sell the car once it's posted?
I detailed my car the other week and went and took all the required pictures whilst it was looking spot on. Submitted and phoned them up to turn the ad 'live' as they mention.
The valuation was CAP value, in my case £24k on my M4. My car in the spec, mileage and year it is will be a £33-£34k retail car all day long.
The girl on the phone was adamant that I had to be willing to accept £24k for them to turn the ad live so I declined.
I was tempted to tell her to go for it but chickened out as I'm not letting it go that cheap. Any thoughts?

TBH though the price you get isn’t going to be much more than £1k over CAP so if you’re not going to sell it at say £25.5k then I wouldn’t bother if I were you
As per some above I found Motorway’s attitude and app between hopeless and useless. I sold to WBAC for well above the Motorway “estimate”. Save yourself the grief.
Re the Motorway photos specifically I found them to be different between the instructions and the requirements for upload. IIRC if you’re using the app you have to take the photos there and then.

I got thousands over CAP. It's an auction, you don't only get the original minimum estimate, you get whatever it finally sells for, so if you have a desirable car you could get way over CAP, and you still don't have to go ahead with the sale. The driver who turns up to collect the car can turn it down if not as described or may try knocking you down and you can tell them to do one.TBH though the price you get isn’t going to be much more than £1k over CAP so if you’re not going to sell it at say £25.5k then I wouldn’t bother if I were you

Finally got it all sorted. They gave me reserve of £4600, I accepted hoping to get 4800 or so.
Auction went live Saturday. Final offer £5300.
2 blokes from the winning dealer rocked up today, had a quick look on the driveway, no test drive or anything. Transferred the money, checked my bank balance to see money arrived. Gave them the keys. Off they went.
Transferred money from my main account to another one , all seems good.
Apart from the issues uploading photos have to say was very painless process
Now to find a Z4 or SLK.
