Weird. We just bought a black Mazda 5 and we decided to call it Betty based on that very song.

It was very popular at the time along with The Rah Band "The Crunch".

Tom Jones did it recently; quite good. It must irk the original artist when a 65 year old man does their song beeter than they ever did!
