SUV - Auto - Petrol - Decent MPG - 10k ish?

Need to buy a mid sized SUV which main job will be carting my elderly mother around. Have an older 2008 Rav4 which is the perfect hight for getting her in and out but looking for something more modern. Auto box is for my own benefit and petrol preferred as don't do enough miles to need it to be a diesel. A quick look about seems to suggest something like a Nissan Qashqai type thing. Or would something like a VW Tiguan be better? Any other sugestions welcome!

If you like your current RAV4, then a newer RAV4 hybrid sounds like it would fit the criteria (petrol, automatic, usual Toyota dependability...).

ETA: somehow missed the 10k bit, so scrub the above.

Yeti or Karoq? I've been using a 1.2 Yeti dsg for the last 18 months and it's pretty good for what it is.
You might struggle with your budget with the way prices are at the moment.

A bit left field, but have a look at a SsangYong Tivoli. Excellent value for money and a seven year, 150k warranty.

As above, newer Rav4, or its sister car, a lexus nx for something that feels a bit more special

The Honda CRV is a close competitor to the RAV4, although £10k will only see you into a 3rd Gen which is getting on a bit now. It really needed the 2.4 because I found the 2.0 petrol in auto is gutless on the motorway.
