Allow me to educate you:
My first BMW used to be serviced by "Black and White BMW" in the late 80's, in the little village of Harvington, just outside Evesham in Worcestershire.
(Back then, there was no loan car, customer car collection and delivery service, or customer lift service, so you either had to arrange transport to and from the dealership [ which was in the middle of nowhere! ] yourself, or as I used to, you had to sit around their reception area until your car was finished [ I spent many hours in that reception area - Got to know the staff really well!
] ) The "Black and White" franchise was bought by David Richards (of Prodrive fame - Builders of the World Rally Championship winning cars for Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg), who moved the dealership to Four Pools Estate in Evesham.
After many years of David Richards owning the franchise, he sold it to Robert Stern.
Robert Stern eventually decided to abandon Evesham, and move the dealership to Worcester, building a brand new dealership on the outskirts of Worcester.
For a short period of time, he also bought a small Volvo dealership site on the other side of the City, purely to sell approved used cars.
The approved used car sales site lasted a couple of years, and was then abandoned, the approved used cars moving to the main dealership site.
Robert Stern eventually sold the franchise to Rybrook, who own it to this day.

Can you recall a tiny bmw dealership at Mustow Green between Kidderminster and Bromgrove, probably 1970s?
I have a faint memory of viewing what I think would be a 2002 there as a very young child with my dad.
