Myself and a few freinds went round a few sites in London on Friday amongst which was the Magdala Pub where Ruth Ellis allegedly shot dead her lover, we counted 5 shots in the pub wall but reading accounts of the event there was only 2 shots fired whilst he was standing up,has anyone else shown interest in this event out of interest.

Liebchen - even I know who Ruth Ellis was. She shot her lover (racing driver und alleged bit a a cad in paddy of woman scorned or something) und they hanged her for it.
Ist now some debate or other about justification all these years after the incident.

,ive been reading over some of the records on the hangings and its pretty frightening that they carried one woman semi consious to the gallows and some guy got hanged for being associated to a murder(Bentley),looks like the justice system has gone from one extreme to another since the 50's.I very nearly bought the 'Emperor' back in the late 1980's. It was up for sale for quite a reasonable price (about £8K, IIRC). Eventually deciced that as the design was fairly crude, it wasn't worth the hassle of taking on something so specialised (sourcing spare parts, arranging repairs to any body damage etc.).
I remember it selling in the late 90's for rather a lot more, though - a six-figure sum, I think. Oh, well - can't win 'em all!
