2010 Range Rover Sport
Discussion
super impressed by the L494, but has a lot of depreciating still to do.
Looking on autotrader I can see you can get a reasonable 3.0 2010 Range rover sport for around £10k, at the bottom of the depreciation curve. Most garages seem to give a 3-6 month warranty too, so at least some peace of mind.
Any thoughts on these? Truly moneypits as people say, or is there value to be had?

£10k car that has £50k running costs.
Granted this is based on the newer model, but its pretty damning. https://www.whatcar.com/land-rover/range-rover-spo...
Over 60%(!!!!) of diesel Range Rover Sports had major problems. Issues reported by owners spanned a range of areas, the most serious of which were the gearbox, drivetrain, engine and suspension. Not all cars were fixed under warranty and some were off the road for more than a week.
Land Rover as a brand finished in 29th place out of 30 manufacturers.
So basically you have less than a coin head flips chance of getting a decent motor. Run like fook.

The V6 diesels can suffer from their crank snapping, in addition to the regular Range Rover maladies

I suggest a very careful read of the policy document! Dealer warranties on bangers can be more a like a Piece of
than Peace of MindRemember that the CRA 2015 effectively gives you a 6 month warranty that is often (perhaps always) superioir to any dealer warranty
