VXR Recaro's in an MX-5 - Will it work?

Hi,

I am slowly doing up a 2006 MX-5 (Mk 3). The seats ideally need a retrim (circa £1000) but I have been offered a pair of superb condition Recaro seats from a Mk 5 Astra VXR for free from an old work mate.

Before I drive 270 miles to Scotland to pick them does anyone know if they can be fitted into a Mazda? I cannot find much online about modified subframes or even if they will actually fit. I know I will need to deactivate the passenger sensor and side airbags.

If I can make these fit I am thinking they will look as close to OEM as they can and hopefully look as good as the ones in the Sport Tech Recaro they did a few years ago.

sounds over the top to me a grand for refurb seats, a few hundred quid tops surely? have a look on ebay, loads on there

A huge nudge but OP your profile doesn't allow emails unfortunately. Did you manage to do this, or get other OEM seats in there? Looking to do the same as I'm looking for an OEM equivalent seat that would take harnesses.
