2009 VW Scirocco Pulsating Noise.

My friend is having a problem with his car and is having no luck on the scirocco forum. I am quoting the text:

I have recently noticed my scirocco (2009 TDI 2.0 170) making an unusual pulsing whirring noise (best way I can describe it) when the engine is idling. Seems to go away under acceleration but I'm not sure if it is just hidden by exhaust / tyre noise when moving. I was wondering if anyone might be able to identify what it could be and if it is something of concern. I have no fault codes nor errors on the dash.

Holding my phone in the driver side foot rest area, tried to make it as clear as I could but you can hear the rain on the roof.

Hey,
I saw your post and listened to the video that you posted, the issue you had/have sounds very similar to mine! I have a TT TDI CR170 and I get a very similar sound that can be heard in the cabin but not so much when stood outside, mine goes away or gets quieter when the AC is turned on.

Did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing it?
