How exciting for the nation that she has seen this open. Bet she is thrilled at something tangible and lasting beginning service.

Best bit is the first few seconds where boris suddenly thinks he's forgotten his ticket.

Looks well considering she had to miss opening of parliament a few days ago.

She also attended the Platinum Jubilee event on Sunday, which was televised on ITV. In fact Omid Jamili, who was compering, made the joke that no one blamed her for giving the opening of parliament a miss smile

I know, It was fuggin ages ago. Would have been slap bang in a more prosperous era. Still may kick start a new dawn etc.

I'm surprised they're not "spinning" the delay as a good thing as now the opening coincides with her madge's jubilee smile

Now can someone confirm, does this count as a party? And if so, why isn't Keith here?

Ridiculous renaming it The Elizabeth Line. She already has the Jubilee Line in her honour, and it's been Crossrail since the outset. Should have just left it at Crossrail, because that's what everyone will call it anyway.

I disagree, Jubilee line was opened in 79 to commemorate 25 years service.
She now has 75 years service - it see it as quite fitting.

Can't see any monarch topping 75 years.

Its a great thing that has happened. The usual in the UK is empty flats for overseas investment and firms that are sold off once there is some money to be pocketed or all work done overseas.
Even if they sell this off it can hardly be moved abroad and it has no choice but to function for the benefit of the uk.
No wonder so many are so gloomy.

I don't begrudge her two Tube lines named after her in so many years and she looked genuinely happy opening it up, perhaps because it was named after her.
