1998 European car of the year
Discussion
A few months ago we arranged my wife’s birthday away weekend, 3 nights in 3 places, Ross On Wye, Barmouth and Llandudno.
In 11 years together we have never been away in a none Alfa, apart from the one time in a Mazda 323, clutch went.
I have not owned one for 18 months, the itch started recently, could not imagine going away in the Volvo, good as it is.
Agreed with a handshake to buy this from a friend today, very early, very original 2.0 twinspark + spares.
He is going to clean it, replace the front shocks and brake pads, sleeve on the exhaust as there is a slight blow.
Cambelt and bits may be due, he will throw in the bits and I will fit it all.
My 24th Alfa, 14th with this engine.
I think it is gorgeous.

Love a 156. I had one about 2007, W reg 2.0 TSpark, manual in rosso red with the lovely black embossed interior, factory skirts though no boot spoiler.Teledial alloys, bought with 40k on the clock.Never let me down in 4 and a half years, only gripe was A/C was asthmatic a bit, even with everything tested.Proper nice car to drive, not 'fast',but still a really good drivers car and looked beautiful. I would like a nice 155 actually, but hen's teeth really now for a good one I suspect. That's a nice blue you have though, suits the car.
I’ve no idea why, but on the seldom occasions I see one of these or a Brera I just can’t stop looking at it. Absolute thing on beauty imo, the lines are just perfect , proportions are perfect and they just have real visual appeal to me. Also, added bonus is that in the 80’s I had a pair of farah’s in a similar colour

In every way the 156 is better than a 155, saying that I have had 7 155's... This is my 2nd 156, hmmm.texaxile said:

I know what you mean, though I have not wanted to own a Brera, I'd say 80's/90's Alfas are my thing... That's why my daily is a giulietta... :-)
