I'm thinking of getting a bund strap, to either look ultra cool, or like a 70's reject. Just wondering what people on here have, and what looks best.

So get yer bunds out, let's see them!

The Bund strap is from Sherp Leatherwork on Etsy.

This combo didn’t really work.

Same OEM Pam bund (off the Cali dialed one), on 2 different Pams. Too bulky

Do these straps serve a purpose other than holding the watch on your wrist?
Can't think of any advantages and would imagine they'd be quite sweaty in summer.

The intended function, on tool watches used as such, was originally to stop any heat conducted via the watch head from burning the wearer’s wrist… they’re just fluff for 99.9% of wearers now I think, and sweaty fluff at that; yes

Actually, it was for almost the opposite reason! The Luftwaffe (the military aviation arm of the Bundesrepublik, hence the name) introduced them in WW2 to prevent cold-soaked watches freezing to sweaty wrists at altitude.

Adding this here from wrist check.

May play around with different watches to see if something looks better.

I'll confess I had no idea what a 'bund' was before reading this thread.

Having read it, I wish I still didn't biggrin
