Can Sky cable be used for normal aerials?
Discussion
Thinking of dropping Sky due to lack of use but only have the double "shotgun" type cable into our lounge, currently from the sky dish.
We have modern digital aerial feeding a powered splitter/booster which in turn feeds the rest of the tvs in the house.
Can I re-route one side of the double sky cable to the splitter to swap the lounge tv to a normal aerial feed terrestrial tv feed?
Thanks

The thin shotgun cable will work as well as the cheap RG6 flogged online. Fitting an RF plug might be a bit of a challenge though. The cable is much thinner than regular coax and so the clamps in the back of a standard coax plug wont grip so well. You might want to have a look at one of these adapter plugs. Your sat cable screws on to the back and the front end is the correct size and shape the the TV RF socket.

Regarding satellite (Freesat) boxes. Freesat does carry more HD channels than Freeview. I also think the picture quality is marginally better since it's not quite so heavily compressed. The obvious disadvantage is that the channel mix isn't a replica of Freeview, and you need one box for each TV. That last point isn't so much of an issue where it's only the lounge that needs a box.
