Weird vibration when hot
Discussion
Hi all, I have a vibration problem with my 2010 Volvo XC90 D5 that I'm hoping you can help me diagnose.
Driving it around normally it seems absolutely fine, can take it up to 80mph and there's no vibration at all. However, after about 20 mins driving a vibration will start at 60+mph.
It will start off as just a noise (dull thump-thump) but within 30 seconds the whole car will be shaking.
Once slowing down it will continue to low speeds until stopped. Shifting into neutral will not stop it either, and it seems to be consistent with wheel speed not engine speed. Although there is not much vibration to notice through the steering wheel.
After stopping it and leaving it for half an hour, the vibration will have gone away again (at least for another 20mins or so).
I've taken it to my local garage and replaced a ball joint, disks/rotors and pads, as well as a 4 wheel alignment. However the problem is still there.
Any advice gratefully received as I'm intending to do around 1,000 miles this weekend.
Thank you
P. S I have my suspicion but I don't want to lead the jury, I'd like to see if there's anything obvious that I'm missing

Maybe an outside suggestion or two as you appear to have ruled out the usual issues of brakes dragging...though if the park brake is the same as S60/V70 drum inside disc, have you checked the park brake shoes for possible delamination, the hold down (not return) springs on those shoes go weak after a time and the shoes can flop about.
Alternatively, if its an electric park brake on disc pads could it not be releasing enough.
Do you have a large difference in tread depth between front and rear tyres, could the centre diff (i have no idea what sort of diff would be in use on your car) be getting hot after a while of having to constantly adjust to said difference.
Does the transmission, including that centre diff, require topping up or a service?
Prop shafts adequately lubed.
