I'm coming over with my car from the UK before driving down to Westport. I need to find a hotel with secure parking, I have stayed in the Intercontinental before but just had a heart attack when I saw the pricing ! Does anyone have any suggestions ? I know Dublin pretty well as I have family there and have been many times.

Many thanks

Secure from theft of potential dings from other users? A carpark with a barrier, valet service or a gated underground garage?

Most underground garages are very tight, I wouldn't risk the front bumper/splitter if you have anything low. I wouldn't take my Tuscan or the Alfa QV down for example.

Prices in hotels are crazy at the minute. I have some corporate guests here at various points over the summer and rates have gone silly, so there are no cheap options in the short-term.

Travelodge Ballymun near J4 m50 had secure underground parking when I was there a few years ago.

Thanks for the replies Gents…and IrishTusc I must have missed the alert from PH of your post.

I’d rather something central than out on the M50 as I’ll be going out for dinner with one of my cousin’s. Low is not a problem and it’s security from that not parking damage (at least I hope not). Car is an old 911 so ramps are not a problem for underground

I'm overseas with work myself, so not been monitoring the forum!

Availability in Dublin is getting worse, but you could try Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, or Mespil Hotel. Both in the same general-ish area as the intercon and with barrier entry/exit parking. Another option might be Camden Court Hotel (traffic is quiet bad in the area at peak times) - has both barrier and underground gated parking. Needless to say, all are a step or two below the intercon in terms of accommodation/service.

Thanks, that’s very helpful.
